We headed to Santa Cruz for Kaiyah's spring break. We are beach lovers and can never get enough of it. The first day we arrived it was sunny but a little windy so we didn't last long at the beach. Sand kept blowing into Laney's eyes since she's so small and the wind would blow right at her level. Comcast and the San Jose Sharks sponsored music, giveaways, a jumper with a slide, dancing, and different things to do for the days we were there. The girls had fun doing it all and Jeremy even caught Kaiyah a sweatshirt. She proudly wore it even though it was 5 sizes too big and had a logo that read "bad girls" under a heart design with devil horns on it! That evening we headed to a look out spot and a light house to watch the surfers. Then we headed back to the hotel, got Laney to sleep, and the rest of us watched a movie.
The second day the weather was perfect. I mainly sat and soaked up some sun and watched the girls and Jeremy play in the sand and water. Kaiyah was soaked from her waist down. She's my water girl and always has been...no matter how freezing the water is. Of course, we cruised the boardwalk and bought our fair share of cotton candy, ice cream, corn on the cob, and played a few games both days.
The other cool thing we did was go to the Mystery Spot. I've heard Jeremy tell people about it, even though he had never been there so when I saw the brochure in the hotel lobby I told him we should go. It was really close by. The Mystery Spot is described as a "gravitational anomaly." It was super neat and if you really want to know what it is all about then google Mystery Spot. I'll try to give you an idea of what it was all about. The tour guide would pull out a leveler and it would say a particular spot was leveled. One time she placed the leveler on a board that did not appear leveled whatsoever, yet it was. Then she put a ball on the same board that just read leveled and the ball would roll up the board not down like it appeared it should. So if it was in fact leveled then the ball shouldn't have rolled at all and especially not up the board!! It was pretty stinkin' cool!! That was our great mini vacation.
